Below Are a Few of The Things We Do To Serve the East Windsor Community

Recycle For Sight

In just about any dresser drawer, one can find a pair of eyeglasses that are no longer being used. That same pair of eyeglasses can change another person's life.

Throughout the year, we collect used eyeglasses and deliver them to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers (LERCs). LERC volunteers clean, sort by prescription strength and package the glasses. Most of the recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in developing countries where they will have the greatest impact.

We collect used eye glasses at five locations:

  •      Warehouse Point Library - 107 Main St. - W Point

  •      Warehouse Point Post Office - Bridge St. - W Point

  •      Geissler's Supermarket - 110 Bridge St. - W Point

  •      East Windsor Town Hall - 11 Rye St. - Broad Brook

  •      Broad Brook Post Office - Main St. - Broad Brook

We do vision screenings for pre-schoolers every year at Broad Brook Elementary School and local day care centers.
